Nitrogen purging with residual oxygen monitoring
With nitrogen purging, the test chamber is first flushed with a large volume of N2 until the oxygen content drops below 3%. Afterwards, it switches to a base flow rate (approx. 10% of the large flow rate).
The nitrogen base flow rate is measured with a flow meter, displayed, and monitored by a limit switch.
O2 monitoring continuously draws gas from the test chamber via a flame arrestor and passes it over an O2 sensor to monitor the residual oxygen in the extracted air. Afterwards, the gas is returned to the test chamber via a second flame arrestor. The extraction pump is monitored with a flow meter. Further details can be found in the operating manual from Dräger in the appendix.
The gas system is currently out of operation!
