Allgemeine Beschreibung:
CNC hand guided control with program input via function and numeric keypad. All information entered interactively via the screen. Integrated menu navigation and plain text display of all functions. Control panel, screen and electronic handwheel integrated in a separate swarf protection hood.

The EPL control offers the following features:
- Operator-guided programming directly via the EPL control, no manual pre-programming required; programs can be entered and modified interactively.
- NC programs to ISO/EIA standard can be transmitted via RS 232 serial interface, output, or entered directly by hand.

Machining cycles:
- Cutting cycles for longitudinal, facing and contour turning, with allowance. Thread cutting. Under-cuts to DIN 509 (form E and F) and DIN 76, including allowance for grinding, programmable. Axial and radial recesses as per DIN 471 and 472, including bottom finishing. Radii 90° and 45° chamfers. Automatic cutting edge radius compensation for cycles, under-cut, recess, radius, chamfer.

Programming:
- Block-oriented, metric/inch, diameter input for absolute value entry, radius for incremental input, full circle programming, subprogram technique, hiding of program parts, reference point shifting, operating mode selection via menu.

Program input and output:
- Interactive entry via user-guided menu or direct dialog mode.
