Our Reitruder twin-screw technology processes high levels of additives and fillers. Instead of pre-mixed compounds, fillers such as calcium carbonate or talc are continuously dosed in. With direct extrusion, energy costs are reduced compared to the two-stage compounding process: Without the need to first solidify and then re-melt the plastic, the Reitruder produces from start to finished product in a single run.

EXTRUSION
Alongside additional innovations, the co-rotating twin-screw extruder Reitruder RZE 85 was the centerpiece of Reifenhäuser’s presentation at the NPE exhibition. A differentiated design concept with new construction features was developed. The screw geometry was adapted to evolving requirements through greater channel depth and a newly designed feed section. These measures alone improve feed when processing PET flakes or regrind and increase the volume for filler dosing. This results in key benefits when processing lower-quality raw materials. Additionally, increased degassing efficiency allows even materials with a moisture content up to 0.5 percent to be used, significantly reducing the need for pre-drying.
