Its 4,160 mm wheelbase creates a practical balance between body mounting space and manoeuvrability, while the reinforced chassis and suspension configuration provide the strength required for commercial body installations. Unlike a vehicle already dedicated to one specific application, a chassis cab allows the final configuration to be developed around the exact operational requirements of the customer.

4x4 Drivetrain with Front & Rear Differential Locks
Off-road mobility requires more than increased ground clearance.

The Atego 1725 A combines four-wheel drive with differential locks on both the front and rear axles, allowing the drivetrain to maintain traction when road conditions become challenging. A Mercedes-Benz VG550 transfer case distributes drive through the 4x4 system, while the G 85-6 manual transmission gives the driver direct control over power delivery.

The strengthened rear springs, reinforced front stabiliser and rear stabiliser for extremely high loads further support the chassis when operating with specialised bodies or on difficult terrain.
