Cutter Head Setting and Measuring Machine
In the manufacturing process for spiral bevel gears, the quality of the cutting tools used plays a decisive role. Especially in dry milling, high gear quality and long service life can only be achieved with precisely set cutter heads.
The CS 200 Cutter Head Setting and Testing Device enables quick and easy adjustment of individual cutters, checks their position and documents the measurement results. The measuring process on the CNC-controlled testing device is semi-automated: the individual steps for the procedure are displayed on the screen via operator guidance. The positioning of the individual cutters in the cutter head as well as the height adjustment of the cutter tips is largely automated via a specific sequence and simultaneously documented with a runout diagram. The subsequent measuring sequence checks the radial position of the inner and outer cutting edges of all cutters in the cutter head. If individual inspection parameters on the cutters do not comply with the specified tolerances, they can be re-positioned individually. Through a combination of semi-automated adjustment sequence, operator-guided setup steps, and automatic measuring routines, cutter heads can be set up comfortably, quickly, and with high precision.
